This registered association works for sexual and gender equality and fundamental rights in Finland. It began as an advocacy and peer-support group for transvestites and their partners, and today serves a broader range of gender-diverse people. It has worked on the legal rights of trans people and followed their implementation, for example the gender expression concept added to the Equality Act. It helped remove transvestism from the Finnish diagnostic classification of diseases and campaigned for a reasonable name law, reporting on its implementation to the Ministry of Justice.
Members receive a magazine, and experience-based training is offered to schools, experts and workplaces. Peer-support evenings are held in several locations, with national meetings a few times a year. There are also expert talks, workshops and social activities such as theatre visits. A support phone line is open to transvestites and their close ones. The association is a member of Seta, the national LGBTI rights organisation.
