This nationwide liberal adult education institution runs training together with its member organisations, of which there are over 6,000. Topics include organisational skills, civic skills, basic skills, arts and crafts, health and wellbeing, and preparedness and safety. Most training is delivered with member organisations, which Sivis supports in quality, pedagogy and funding.
Its own training is aimed mainly at member organisation staff and volunteer officials, and is mostly free of charge. Ready-made online courses are available, such as courses on running an association and a course for volunteer leaders, along with toolkits for trainers and training planners. It is maintained by Opintotoiminnan Keskusliitto ry and has operated for more than 80 years.
