Founded in 1995, the national cheerleading governing body promotes, develops and supervises the sport from recreation to elite competition. It belongs to the European and international cheer unions. Committees cover competitions, judging, discipline and rules.
The federation organises events and serves member clubs. Participants aged seven and over in member clubs need an annual licence.
