Formed in 2011 by merging two earlier federations, this umbrella organisation promotes sailing and motorboating. It includes about 300 member clubs and 39 class associations. Its work covers boating safety, environmental issues, training and support for athletes competing internationally in sailing.
It maintains a member and boat register and handles boat inspection rules and courses. Sailing and boating school programmes are available for children. It publishes Nautic magazine and Nautic-TV and sells books and materials online.
