The non-profit association promotes water protection and recreation in the River Vantaa catchment. It monitors the river, its tributaries and wastewater discharged into them, and coordinates joint groundwater monitoring. Automatic water-quality sensors operate year-round in the Lepsämänjoki river.
Projects improve water conditions and recreational use and support endangered migratory fish. Volunteers can join practical work for the water environment. Membership is open to municipalities, associations, cooperatives, companies and individuals. The association publishes a catchment newsletter and a water-protection action programme. Information is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.
