Founded in 1999, the development association supports rural vitality across seven municipalities in Upper Savo. Leader funding is available for businesses, farms and community and non-profit projects, co-financed by municipalities, the state and the EU rural development fund.
Membership is open to local residents and organisations. The association also runs youth participation and community projects and publishes a trail map for outdoor recreation.
