This stream beside the Vuoksi hydropower plant has been restored by Fortum and the city to support natural trout spawning. Around 200 metres of the upper section, previously piped, has been reopened with spawning and juvenile habitats.
The restored channel passes under the road, improving fish access to the upper stream. Its target flow is around 100 litres per second to help trout move upstream.
