Korkeakoski is a waterfall and rapids on a stream flowing from Köhniönjärvi lake, its course shaped by human intervention. It lies between Korkeakosken tie and Keljonkatu, and the flow is strongest just after the railway tunnel. The spring high water is most dramatic after the snowmelt. The site has a historic vaulted railway tunnel, a stone-walled edge and large trees along the rapids.
A mill operated at the falls in the 1700s, a spirits factory in the 1800s, and a sawmill was there too. The site is a reminder of the town's early industrialisation. The car park and entrance are not wheelchair accessible.
