This nature reserve in Kaarina is a reed-fringed sea bay that belongs to the Natura 2000 network and Finland's national programme for protecting wetland bird habitats. A trail of about 1.2 km runs along the shore through an oak grove, past a bird tower, boardwalks towards Katariinanlaakso in Turku, viewing platforms and information signs. It continues to the Vaarniemi cliff, with an observation tower and a lean-to shelter.
Motor vehicles, bicycles and horses are not allowed, and from April to July visitors must stay on marked paths. Fires are allowed only at the shelter. The routes are suitable for children, and dogs are allowed. Boardwalks get slippery when wet. Parking is on Rauvolantie.
