Founded in 1898, the volunteer fire brigade has a service contract with the Lapland Rescue Department and supports professional and volunteer brigades in the area. An alarm section of around 30 members handles emergency call-outs.
The youth section offers activities for ages 10–16. The women's section provides safety communication for children, young people, adults and older people. Supporter membership allows people to help without taking an active role.
