Founded in 1959, the archery club organises training and competitions, including the Kalotti match between Finland, Sweden and Norway. Its indoor venue has occupied a former bowling hall since 1998, and a compound bow section dates from 1985. Former member Jari Lipponen competed at the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics.
The roughly two-month beginner course requires no experience and starts with an information session. More than 20 entrants are split into two groups. Membership and protective equipment are included; light sports clothing and flat, low-heeled shoes are recommended. Workplace activity days include a shooting demonstration and a company competition.
