Founded in 1983, this non-profit foundation operates in the North Savo region. It supports cancer research and related treatment activities financially. Research grants go to researchers based in or living in North Savo who study the causes and diagnosis of cancer or closely related treatment research.
The foundation can also allocate funds to improve nursing care for cancer patients treated at the university hospital. It is entitled to receive wills and donations in support of its purpose. Grant applications are accepted only through the online service.
