Founded in 1943, the association is a regional expert on visual impairment and a member of the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired. It provides peer support, information, training, audio magazines, IT support and recreation, while promoting accessible services.
Activities are for visually impaired people, their relatives and anyone interested in the subject. Volunteers take part, and partners include municipalities, the wellbeing services county, educational institutions and other organisations. The activity centre's entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
