Part of OAJ, the Finnish Union of Education Professionals, this local teachers' union has around 1,000 members from comprehensive schools, upper secondary schools and other institutions. It liaises with school authorities and decision-makers on employment matters and trains liaison teachers.
Culture, sport, hiking and handicrafts support members' wellbeing at work. Education staff teaching at least eight hours a week can apply. The application also authorises collection of membership subscriptions and enrols the applicant in the Teachers' Unemployment Fund.
