The professional visual artists' association began as a club in 1947 and took its present form in 1954. Its roughly 150 members work in painting, printmaking, sculpture, media and performance art. They work in or originate from Päijät-Häme.
The association organises member exhibitions and provides professional news. Members can deposit works in the art lending library, use Mediapaja facilities and borrow equipment. Membership applications are accepted in March and November. The association belongs to local Kauno ry and the Finnish Visual Arts Federation.
