The Evangelical Lutheran diocese covers South Savo, Kymenlaakso, South Karelia and Päijät-Häme. Its 36 parishes are grouped into four deaneries. The bishopric moved here from Viipuri in 1943.
The diocesan chapter office operates by appointment. Staff include a notary, a legal assessor and specialists in diaconia, worship and education. The entrance, parking area and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
