The area parish organises family activities, youth and music groups and volunteering. Its main place of worship is the double-cross-shaped Church of St John the Baptist, completed in 1832. Lamminniemi Chapel in Hurissalo is another worship venue, and the parish home beside the main church hosts gatherings.
The Särkiranta gathering space has an indoor sauna and a summer lakeside sauna, booked by phone through parish services. The parish also maintains cemeteries in the church village and Lamminniemi. This office has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, car park and toilet.
