The research, education and regional cooperation network brings together Aalto University, the University of Helsinki and LUT University in South Savo. Around 120 staff work across sustainability transitions, ecosystems and entrepreneurship, datafication and artificial intelligence. Units include the Ruralia Institute, a local National Library branch and the university centre coordination team.
The Tiedepolku school programme introduces pupils to recycling and the circular economy at Metsäsairila waste sorting station. This office is in an adult education centre, with an accessible car park and entrance.
