The Finnish Automotive and Transport Workers' Union AKT is a trade union for transport sector employees, with a history of over 120 years. It has about 38,000 members, from aviation cabin crew to combination vehicle drivers. Members belong to professional branches based on their home region or sector.
The union negotiates collective agreements with employer organisations and gives advice on pay and employment matters. It offers legal aid in employment disputes, and unemployment fund membership is included with union membership. Members under 36 have their own AKT Nuoret youth section with summer and winter events. A dedicated press page lists media contacts and offers downloadable logos and graphic guidelines.
