The local branch of the Finnish Food Workers' Union was founded as a bakers' workers' branch on 16 April 1905. It is one of the union's six founding branches. Its history is documented in a centenary book published in 2005.
Membership applications and workplace enquiries can be submitted through the website. The branch organises member celebrations and weekends for those under 35, and recruits union representatives at food-sector workplaces.
