Designed by G. E. Ekestubben, the building opened as a prayer house in 1894 and was consecrated as a church in 1927. A bell tower followed six years later. Venny Soldan-Brofeldt painted the Transfiguration altarpiece, while Ilmari Launis designed the stained glass and 1927 renovation.
The roughly 250-seat church hosts worship, communion and memorial services. Lauri Hollmén planned the 1985 renovation, with lighting by Lisa Johansson-Pape. Uuno Eskola's Christ mosaic was added for the 1994 centenary. Access, parking and the toilet are accessible, and a hearing loop is available.
