This is the regional district of the Reservists' Association, covering South Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia. Founded in 1960, it is the umbrella organisation for local reservist associations in the region. Activities include reservist fitness, such as the Reserviläispyöräily cycling event that tours the province, and shooting, both traditional arms shooting and applied reservist shooting (SRA). The district has published its joint newsletter Lakeuden Maanpuolustaja online since 2018.
The work is funded by membership fees, donations from regional companies and Lakeuden Maanpuolustajain Tuki ry. The Finnish Defence Forces (Porin Prikaati) provide training facilities and equipment support. The car park is wheelchair accessible.
