The anti-tank barrier was built in winter 1940 by a work company of local residents and Winter War evacuees. Stones were taken from nearby fields and transported by horses. A natural-stone memorial erected in 2017 was initiated by war veteran Mauri Maunula, with a sign made by master smith Jarkko Kaartilanmäki.
The site lies along the Vekaransalmi scenic road and is listed as a Geopark attraction. It combines a defence-history site with a natural setting.
