Founded in 2020 as a private family business, this Tampere café next to the Metso library sets out to bring northern atmosphere and hospitality to the south. Specialities include rieska, a Lapland flatbread, and products from Tornion Panimo, a brewery in Tornio. Coffee comes with pastries and savoury snacks, and beer, wine and spirits are served.
Weekday lunch is a salad with warm smoked salmon, vuolukala (cured fish), smoked tofu or warm falafel, plus a small sweet and coffee or tea. There is outdoor seating, and food can be taken away. The entrance and toilet are accessible, high chairs are available and dogs are welcome inside. Visits usually last 30 minutes to an hour and a half.
