At the foot of the Pyynikki observation tower in Tampere, the same family has been making doughnuts by hand for almost 40 years. They are made daily to the original recipe, and the classic also comes in a vegan version made with oat drink and a gluten-free one. Filter coffee comes from the local Kahwe Roastery, and there are savoury pies too. The tower offers a panoramic view over forests and lakes.
You go up by stairs or lift, with tickets sold in the café. Tables cannot be reserved, but groups should call ahead. Cash, cards and MobilePay are accepted. There are two steps at the entrance, and the tower toilets are not accessible. Dogs are welcome on the terrace and in the tower.
