On the bank of the Tammerkoski rapids in Tampere, this restaurant occupies a former factory building whose red-brick walls are almost 170 years old, with large windows facing one of Finland's national landscapes. The cooking draws on international influences with traditional roots, and dishes are named after local places and people, such as Herrainmäen härkä beef.
A daily changing lunch is served on weekdays, with a vegetarian option. Tables can be booked online, booking is recommended for dinner, and a visit usually takes one to three hours. The bar serves cocktails, wine and beer, and there is outdoor seating. Step-free access is from the inner courtyard via the Pihlajalinna entrance.
