Established in 2010, the foundation works in development cooperation, relief and domestic social support. Its Adventist background includes social work in Finland since 1968 and international development work since 1978. It belongs to a relief network active in more than 120 countries.
Domestic work includes food aid, often with local congregations, and relies on many volunteers. Overseas projects are mainly funded by Finland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs, while domestic work is supported by the Sympatia collection. Principles include non-discrimination, transparency, quality monitoring and audited reporting.
