Based in Tampere, this is one of Finland's fifteen regional sports organisations, promoting physical activity regardless of the sport. Its work covers training, networks, events and campaigns, lobbying decision-makers, advice and communications. It also publishes the Hämeen Sportti magazine.
Programmes include the Liikuntaleikkikoulu course for young children, the Sporttikiertue school tour, the Move! ideas bank for teachers, Buusti360 for workplaces and Mars kuntoon for conscripts. Sports clubs can get coach and instructor training and help with administration. Courses are booked online, some through the Ilmarix system, and the parking area and entrance are accessible.
