The crisis centre is run by Pirkanmaan Mielenterveys ry and belongs to the MIELI Mental Health Finland network. The association was founded in 1975, Osviitta was established in 1993, and it has about 150 members. The centre offers conversation support in crises: help is free of charge, needs no diagnosis or referral, and is available quickly. Clients can meet a worker at the centre, or get support by phone and video.
The centre also answers the national MIELI Crisis Helpline and offers online support, including the SEKASIN chat. Suicide prevention work uses the Linity brief intervention model. Professionally guided support groups, training, events and volunteer activities are also offered. Services in English are limited.
