The non-profit association supports family carers in 23 municipalities across Pirkanmaa. Activities include peer support, guidance, advocacy for carers' rights and recreation. The OmaisOiva model includes groups, cafés and information kiosks, and the association also runs Ovet training for carers.
No membership or official carer status is required. Anyone caring for a relative or interested in carer issues can take part. The website's event calendar lists peer support groups and other activities.
