Since 1937 this Tampere society has kept the city's history and traditions alive. It publishes Tammerkoski, Finland's oldest local heritage magazine, six times a year, along with books on Tampere such as Mikko Pollari's Tampereen sydän and Maailmantalouden murroksessa, the fifth volume of the city's history.
Its shop is on the ground floor of the Raatihuone (City Hall), and items can also be ordered online: besides books there are a Tampere sauna thermometer, a water bottle and postcards. The books are also sold at Akateeminen Kirjakauppa and Suomalainen Kirjakauppa in Tampere. The society organises theatre trips, and both individuals and companies can join.
