This Turku primary school has around 410 pupils, and its strengths are media education, CLIL classes (some subjects taught through another language), sport and visual arts. It runs a media project and the Turun kielivirta language project and has its own video channel, Wäiski-TV. The website also features the life of sculptor Wäinö Aaltonen (1894–1966).
Fourth-graders choose elective subjects, and there are morning and afternoon clubs. Pupils joining get an information pack, the website has a section in English, and families communicate with staff through Wilma. The parents' association is called Wäiskin vanhemmat, and there is a step-free entrance and accessible parking.
