Covering about 24 hectares, this city park in Turku dates back to the 1820s, when a walkway was laid beside the spring, and tradition holds that Bishop Henry baptised the first Finnish Christians here. It has a bird pond, open lawns, an old spring pavilion, sculptures and memorial plaques, as well as a large sports area and an outdoor pool opened in 1912.
The park is open all year and its general areas are free, while the pool, minigolf and sports hall charge admission. Children have a playground, a traffic park and an adventure park, and there is also a basketball court, a skate park and a dog park. Picnic tables and public toilets are available, and Föli buses stop nearby.
