Built in the 13th century, Turku Castle is a medieval fortress whose museum traces the building's history from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Exhibitions fill both the outer bailey and the main castle, and the site is part of Turku City Museum.
Guided tours run for adults, children and school groups, and some need advance registration. Group tours are booked by phone or email, and you can also explore on your own with an audio guide on your own device. The Museum Card is accepted, and last entry is 30 minutes before closing. Visits usually take from 30 minutes to three hours. The entrance is not step-free. The Fatabur museum shop is inside the castle.
