The union represents employees of municipalities, wellbeing services counties, the state, businesses, NGOs and parishes. It negotiates collective agreements, with workplace representation through shop stewards. Services include employment advice, legal services and legal aid for workplace disputes.
Members are insured through the Aaria unemployment fund. Training covers professional development, workplace wellbeing and representative roles. An online joining form assigns members to a local or regional association. The website is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.
