This Turku society is a local branch of the League of Finnish-American Societies (SAM) and promotes relations between Finland and the United States. It organises US-related events such as American holiday celebrations, cultural events and talks on current affairs, and helps young Finns study and work in the US. Events are held together with student organisations at the city's universities and colleges.
Members are offered scholarships, education programmes and job opportunities in the US. You can join online, and contact is by email or Facebook message. Volunteers are welcome. The national league, founded and run by volunteers, has an 80-year history and is politically non-aligned.
