This non-profit Ukrainian-Finnish friendship association is run entirely by volunteers. It was founded in 2022 as a fundraising effort, two days after the start of the full-scale war, by private individuals in the Vörå area. Its aims are to distribute aid to Ukraine and to Ukrainians in Finland, help them integrate and promote cultural exchange between the two countries.
Humanitarian deliveries include medical supplies, first aid equipment and food. The association helps Ukrainians find work and organises cultural events such as Ukrainian food serving and flashmobs. A sewing group makes specially adapted clothing for wounded people in Ukrainian hospitals and rehabilitation centres, and ambulance donations have been supported together with the Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county. It operates from the Rewell shopping centre and a Kalyna Center in Vörå, and membership applications are accepted.
