This scientific and cultural association preserves, researches and shares knowledge of Swedish-speaking culture in Finland. It runs an archive and library and publishes books, music recordings and the magazines Källan and Vi Läser. It also hosts the Finnish Swedish Folk Music Institute.
A research room is available to researchers. The association offers project funding, research positions, scholarships and writers' residences. Events, seminars, podcasts and a blog make its work accessible to wider audiences.
