The volunteer-run association organises coach trips, theatre and concert outings, lectures and book recommendation sessions. Its programme also includes an annual Valentine's Day concert.
Social activities include Christmas bazaars, potluck gatherings and a market-square porridge stand. Members bake buns for care homes at Christmas. Theatre and concert tickets are sold to members, and the association publishes a periodic blog newsletter.
