Founded in 1898, the association represents the economic and social interests of painting companies in the metropolitan area. It has around 50 member contractors. The book Vuosisata näkyvää jälkeä, published in 1998, covers its first century of shared activities.
The website presents member firms, benefits, a painters' museum and vocational school, a women's section and the Tela bowling club. A membership application form and member mailing service are available, along with bowling club contacts.
