Founded in Ilomantsi in 1952, the family association brings together relatives living across Finland and abroad. Its website presents family history, memoirs and biographies, with a family tradition tracing back to an ancestor named Paavo, born in 1713.
Meeting minutes, activity reports, plans and photographs of family gatherings are published online. Members can obtain a history booklet, family trees, a flag and an envelope carrying the association emblem. A family council runs the association and can be contacted by email or Facebook.
Share your experience of the family association in the comments for other relatives considering taking part.
