This men's choir was founded in 1922, with roots in a quartet formed after Finland's independence. It has been conducted by Anneli Julén, a music counsellor, since 2000, and the senior choir is led by Erkki Alanen. It performs at concerts, Christmas and spring concerts and joint concerts with orchestras and soloists, and can be hired for events. It has competed in choir competitions in Finland and abroad, including the Madetoja competition. Several CDs have been released, and a 100-year history book appeared in 2022.
Rehearsals are on Mondays at the Hämeen Suoja hall. Auditions are held during rehearsals to determine voice range, and no prior singing or music theory experience is needed. A support association called Mimmit helps with fundraising and events.
