This Orthodox church stands in Helsinki's Orthodox cemetery and is run by the Helsinki Orthodox Parish. Designed by architect Ivan Kudrjavzew and dedicated to the Prophet Elijah, it was consecrated on 28 September 1958. The cemetery also holds the older St Elijah's Chapel, completed in 1851, the parish's second-oldest place of worship. The feast day is 20 July.
A panikhida memorial service is held on Friday evenings and the liturgy on Saturdays, with a Ukrainian-language liturgy every other Sunday. Cars can drive up to the entrance, and wheelchair users can enter with an assistant using a stair lift; ask the caretaker to arrange it. The crypt and the old chapel are not accessible.
