The Bank of Finland Museum in Helsinki sets out to improve public understanding of the economy, covering money, the Bank of Finland and the euro system. Exhibitions trace the history of money and payment, show how to recognise a genuine euro banknote and present banknote art. The Financial Literacy Centre, which works to improve Finns' money skills, is based here too.
Admission is free, and guided tours can be booked online. The programme also includes public discussions and teacher training. A café and souvenir shop are open during museum hours. The entrance and toilets are wheelchair accessible, it is suitable for children, and a visit usually takes from half an hour to two hours.
