Set in the Torikorttelit blocks by the market squares, this museum explores Helsinki's past and its many stories. There is a dedicated exhibition for children and a photo archive that can be browsed online. It also runs four other sites: Hakasalmi Villa, Ratikkamuseo, Ruiskumestarin talo and Duunarimuseo.
Admission is always free, and a visit usually takes 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Guided tours and walking tours can be booked and bought online, and children's birthday parties are hosted here. There is a shop and a restaurant, the entrance and toilets are accessible, and there is a baby-changing table. A virtual 360° tour is also available.
