This City of Helsinki day-care centre lies close to the Vanhankaupunginkoski rapids and a nature reserve, and has about 110 children. Its approach is exploratory and playful, with projects built around the children's own interests, backpack outings, the positive-pedagogy Vahvuusvaris materials and a music cart. The horseshoe-shaped building has two wings, Kaislaranta and Lummelahti, and a large hall in the middle.
There are groups for ages 1 to 3, 3 to 5 and pre-school, and the centre shares one unit with the Arabia and Loiske day-care centres. Care is in Finnish. A level, wide and lit path leads to the entrance, the premises are on the entrance floor, and there is an accessible toilet.
