Right in front of the main pier on Suomenlinna in Helsinki, this restaurant brews its own beers and ciders in a long red former barracks built in 1868–1870, during the Russian period. The kitchen combines Scandinavian and Russian influences with classic continental cooking, using ingredients from small Finnish producers, and the meat is almost always Finnish. It belongs to the family business Ravintolakolmio, whose story began in 1979.
The island is about 15 minutes by boat from the Market Square. Beer comes by the glass, tankard or pitcher, and there is a summer terrace and a private room for events. Tables can be booked online or by phone, and the entrance is step-free.
