Standing in the middle of the Esplanade park in Helsinki since 1867, this building has been a meeting place from the start, and its walls still bear traces of the early days of Finnish art. Under one roof are a restaurant, café, bar, terrace and cellar party rooms. The kitchen cooks classic dishes from seasonal Finnish ingredients, and the café's bread comes from the in-house bakery.
Tables can be booked online or by phone, but the café and terrace take no reservations. The café serves salmon soup for lunch every day, and a visit usually lasts 45 minutes to two hours. The dining room and toilet are wheelchair accessible, high chairs are available, and cards and mobile payments are accepted.
