This non-profit general-benefit association runs a network of geospatial information actors in Finland. Members include government agencies, municipalities, companies, educational and research institutions, and associations. It was registered on 19 August 2020 as an action of the 2018 Finnish Parliament geospatial information policy report, and it continues the network activities previously run by the National Land Survey of Finland.
The association publishes the online magazine Positio on geospatial trends, applications and research, and organises the annual GeoForum Summit, the largest yearly event in the Finnish geospatial sector, with an exhibition of products and services. It takes part in the Location Innovation Hub project, co-funded by the EU and Business Finland. Individual members can join through the ProGIS association.
