The association represents the employer and business policy interests of the roofing and waterproofing industry. Its members are roofing contractors and industrial companies in the sector. It was founded in 1964 as Tasakattourakoitsijainliitto, the flat roof contractors' association, renamed Kattourakoitsijainliitto in 1981 and became Kattoliitto in the early 1990s.
It has been a member of Rakennusteollisuus RT since 1992 and part of its Pinta industry group since 2007. A member directory helps you find roofing contractors by region. The association publishes the Toimivat katot guide series and a roofing occupational safety guide (2012), and compiles statistics on occupational accidents in the sector.
